Description:
This large professional body is looking to recruit an experienced Editor to assist with the delivery of new products within agreed timescales, budgets and targets.
The role:
• To identify and encourage suitable contributors to work on agreed projects
• To answer enquiries from external contributors and organisations ensuring good working relationships are maintained
• To respond to internal enquiries ensuring the circulation of information on existing and forthcoming products
• To prepare proposals for new projects, make recommendations for specific products and pricing
• To conduct market researches
• To commission journals and negotiate contracts with external contributors
Essential skills, qualifications and experience:
• Educated to at least degree standard or equivalent
• Knowledge of electronic publishing technologies and commissioning processes
• Demonstrable experience of journal publishing in an editorial role
• Previous experience in commissioning and list management
• Must have knowledge of market research and be able to prepare, interpret and present financial information
• Must be prepared to travel nationally or internationally when required
Salary and benefits:
• £30,000 per annum
• Hours: 36.25 per week
• 25 days’ holiday entitlement
